Philadelphia, 2 November 2016 — Dr. Chao Zhou of the SDM Innovations (SDMI) team presented at the The University City Science Center's announcement of a new evaluation report of their QED Proof-of-Concept program during the QED Round Seven Showcase on November 2, 2016 at Quorum at the University City Science Center. The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia developed the report: "Closing the Gap: University City Science Center's QED Proof-of-Concept Program". The report quantifies the performance and impact of the program on the Greater Philadelphia region's innovation ecosystem.

During the event, Dr. Zhou presented a brief overview of how SDMI successfully evolved from his and Bob Michel's involvement in the QED program conducted by The University City Science Center.

New York City, 28 June 2016 — The SDM Innovations team attended the 4thAnnual New York City's Regional Innovation Node's (NYCRIN) Annual Network Meeting held at City University of New York at Baruch College in Manhattan. The SDMI founders had participated in the NIH's Innovation Corps (I‑Corps) program conducted by NYCRIN in the Spring of 2014 .

This meeting provided SDMI with an opportunity to discuss the company and its technology with meeting attendees that included a number of venture capital and angel investors interested in SDMI and our innovative technology.

Dr. Karpe has played a significant role representing Lehigh University in discussions and agreements with SDMI.

An exhibit panel was on display to showcase SDMI's technology and business overview. It drew an impressive number of visitors who discussed investing in the technology and SDMI plans for commercialization.
